Community Contest - May

What kind of contest is it?
It's a t-shirt contest for the month of May. I'm only one guy (and ad revenue on this site barely covers hosting costs), so let's start out small for now...

What can you win?
I'm going to have a draw to win a free t-shirt from the BikingToronto Store. It can be any shirt ... any size and any colour... and I'll even personalize it for the winner if they want.


How do you get chances to win?
Ah, that's the fun (and easy) part!

* Method 1: Join the BikingToronto Community during MAY. Every registered member of the Community gets an entry into the t-shirt draw.

* Method 2: Post stuff in the Community. Discuss stuff in the forum, post bikey photos you may have, even start a Group. Every post you post in the Community is good for another entry in the draw. There's a lot of stuff to do on there, so go nuts. :) This contest runs for the whole month of may, so post away!

Can I win anything else?
Yeah, I'm going to have a couple small bonus prizes (also from the Store) for people who post a whole lot, or those who start discussions / post photos / start groups that get a lot of participation from other members.

I haven't forgotten about this. :)

I've just tallied up all the entries for the May Contest:

1) you got an entry if you were or became a member of the BikingToronto Community in May

2) you got an entry every time you posted anything (a forum post, a photo, etc.) in the Community during May.

I'll be doing the draw soon - but if you're interested in how many entries you have, here's a list. Each time you see your name, it's an entry in the draw for a t-shirt from the BikingToronto store. The names are listed with those who joined the community near the end of May at the top of the list... all are going into a hat - so don't worry about what your number is. :)

And for those who don't win, or who didn't become a member until June... I'll be running another contest in July. :)

I just did the draw for the free BikingToronto t-shirt, using the draw entry numbers above... here's a photo of all the entries in a hat (specifically my Blue Jay hat):

And.... I pulled one out from deep in the hat... and the winner is... *drumroll*.... Anna!

Honorable mentions go to Psyminh, Pouya, Greg Lyttle, Dawn, and Tory, who were the most active members back in May. I'll be giving you guys cute little BikingToronto buttons. :)

I'm not sure the best way to get all these prizes to you... maybe we should start a BikingToronto Community Drinks night? :)

Sure thing Anna... have a look around the BikingToronto Store and let me know what colours you'd like the t-shirt to be in (there's a wide range of colours of both the shirt and the printing).

The back or front will have the "I Bike T.O." logo I designed a couple years ago, plus "bikingtoronto.com" but I can personalize it further for you as well... your name, a favourite quote of yours... whatever you want! :)

Great news - Anna picked out a t-shirt with a custom saying on the back, and it was delivered while I was on vacation. :) (Anna, I opened the package to make sure they got the quote right).


Also, the Buttons came in too - for Psyminh, Pouya, Greg Lyttle, Dawn, and Tory! (they posted the most back in May) :)

So, now the question becomes - how to get these to you... is everyone open to a "Community Outing" ? A pub night? Some get-together?

I'm free most nights except Tuesday and Thursday (for ultimate frisbee). I get back downtown from work around 6:30, so could meet up after that!

Okay - it looks like Anna is only checking her email sporadically right now - so we may have to go ahead with the meet-up without her and get together.

I thought it would be fun to do the drawing for July's T-shirt when we get together too. :)

Judging from above posts - Dawn is good whenever, and Psyminh can do anything but Tuesdays and Thursdays - any restrictions for Pouya, Greg or Tory?
