Can anyone give me some advice on how to get from Bloor and St. George to Leslie and Steeles? I think the Don Park land trails may be the way, but they are disconnected near the 401 and it goes out East a bit.
I think you're right as well though there may be some roads that could do the job better. A couple of thoughts though.
While Tory and I disagree heavily on this, I actually don't mind biking home along Don Mills during the evening rush. The rightmost lane is carpool/taxi/bus/bike only in rush hour and I'd say 90% of folks respect that (except, of course, when making right turns). The result is that with the added bonus of the fact that it is mostly downhill, it is *really* fast. It tired me out a bit the last couple times I tried it as I hit all green lights as well so I never even got a rest for those. I don't think I'd want to do the uphill climb in the morning rush, though.
One caveat: On nice days the Don trails can be pretty packed with walkers, dogs, kids on bikes with training wheels, families of four walking abreast. In other words, there will be points, particularly near parking lots (Really bad at Edwards Gardens on nice days) when you can go little faster than walking pace.
