Is the lakeshore path being plowed this winter. I went for a ride last night with the plan of being a lil silly and trying to bike along the lake in the snow, but, then it ended up being plowed all the way from from the humber river to bathurst with one iffy stretch east of ontario place and a huge patch off ice at the bottom of the hill from the humber bridge on that turn... hehe But. totally understandable.

But yeah, is the lakeshore path being plowed?

is there any way that I can figure out the status of the path? It's fairly out of my way to get downtown, but willing to take it to get away from the cars and if it turns out that the path is not clear when I expect it to be so, it would probably end up in me being late for school.

And, one complaint. I decided to go through the exhibition place on the way home. I am pretty sure there is never an opportunity cross lakeshore by foot at the 'princess gates'? I think it's called.. The arch at the east end.. not the arch at dufferin. Been trying to be a law abiding cyclist these days, not going to take responsibility for j-walking on that one. (I waited for two light cycles)

also, I would still ride a winter ready bike on the trail.

I haven't been on the waterfront since the fall, so I too am interested in if it's being maintained. I know it's supposed to be this year... :)

Yes, the path is being cleared this year. In on a trial (or pilot) basis, but the city would really like to continue this.

I spoke with Peter Leiss yesterday and he confirmed that city transportation crews are clearing the snow after snowfall events (but only after, or when, the sidewalks are being cleared.) And Peter said that he is giving his staff daily reminders to look over the trail in the morning and to clear any problem spots, or when they are too big for FP&R crews, to call in transportation services to re-clear those problem spots.

Be sure to show up and depute at the TCAC committee meeting that does the follow-up on this, because I'm sure that hearing from cyclists that this is a good thing to be doing will help keep it going!
