BikingToronto Community

Hi all!

I've been interested in getting a bike for a while but since I haven't ridden a bike in ages, I have been apprehensive about re-learning the ways of the cyclist... however this spring i decided to be a slave to the TTC no more...

That being said, I would like to find a relatively cheap used bike to re-introduce myself to cycling before purchasing a more fancy bike.

I was just wondering if anyone could suggest some nice, friendly and knowledgeable bike shops that sell used bikes in the annex area (bloor/bathurst)

your expertise is much appreciated!
Thanks!

i just did this! it's my first bike to use downtown, which seemed terrifying! it really was totally cool once i got on the road, though.

anyhow, craigslist! maybe talk to a bike shop about what you should be looking for, but i got a great basic starter bike for 130, 140 with the lock.

as for bike shops in the annex, there's a few! curbside cycle at howland and bloor, cyclemania closer to ossington and the bike joint at harbord and clinton. further west is sweet petes, which i hear is AMAZING. 1204 bloor st w, at brock, just past dufferin.

good luck!
