Share 'cycling up to Finch/Humberline Drive from Bloor/Kipling'

I plan to cycle up to Finch/Humberline Drive starting from Bloor/Kipling. I'm familiar with as far as Eglinton through the park trails but after that plan to take the old 27 street straight up to Finch.....looks like very few side street options. Am worried about gravel sides, no cycling lanes (of course, it's Etobicoke - car territory). I wonder if anyone else is familiar with that route. Maybe…
