I have to agree... I'm sure the shoppers don't really mind (they probably see it as "look at those crazy cyclists!")... but it doesn't seem right.

I've been on one CM that went through the Eaton Centre, and I walked my bike through.

Having said that, though, how awesome would a cycling race through a closed Eaton Centre be? I wonder if it's even possible?...

I didn't mind CM going through once - the shoppers didn't seem upset and there was no harm done. But to do it many times? I just didn't really see the point. I think Darren over at TorontoCranks said it well - Take that desire to shake new people up and go somewhere else - the Danforth, the Beaches, the western reaches of Bloor.

Also, as I have said about CM's going on the Gardiner, there is nothing wrong with radical, illegal action IMO. However, there needs to be a clear purpose to it and the action needs to support that purpose. Would it be legal to travel in bunches and take a lane of Bloor Street at rush hour to ensure riders' safety and make a point about the lack of bike lanes there? I'm guessing not (I seem to recall something prohibiting anything but single-file riding). At the same time, the point is clear, and it serves a purpose. Similar things could be said about the O.U.R.S. actions

Disturbance for disturbance's sake does nobody any favours.
